SPOKANE — Separate fires damaged a duplex and destroyed a vacant building in Spokane.
KHQ-TV reports a 1:30 a.m. fire at a duplex caused about $40,000 damage. Medics checked three people who escaped safely.
KXLY-TV reports firefighters were unable to save a vacant building that went up in flames about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in east Spokane. A neighbor, Phil Faris, said the building was nearly 100 years old and had been broken into several times in the past few months.
