Safety fair planned
The annual Lake Stevens Health and Safety Fair is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the County Market. The free fair includes lots of family activities with a focus on police, firefighting and safety. People can bring expired medications to discard and also get free health screenings. Exchange old flags: Turn in your worn U.S. flag and get a new flag during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday this week, at McClain Insurance Services, 10410 19th Ave. SE, Suite 100, Everett. New flags are American-made. Retired flags will be ceremonially disposed of by local Boy Scouts. For more information about the annual Flag Day-inspired event, call 425-379-9200.
Gun safety tips: The Mountlake Terrace Police Department plans a free “Personal and Firearms Safety Tips” class for June 18. The class is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. at the City Council chambers, 6100 219th St. SW, Suite 220. The teacher is police Sgt. Pat Lowe.
