Free Day for parks
Visitors to Washington state parks will not need a Discover Pass to visit state parks Aug. 25. Fees will not be waived for overnight stays or facility rentals, but parking will be free for the day.
This free day is in recognition of the 99th anniversary of the National Park Service. The state has up to 12 free park days a year. Two more are coming up: Sept. 26 in honor of National Public Lands Day and Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
Mukilteo Historical Society meeting: The general meeting of the Mukilteo Historical Society will be held 7:15? ?p.m. Thursday in the Fowler Room at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave. Lillian Anderson Cronkhite, ?2015 ?MHS Pioneer of the Year, will ?share her memories of growing up in Mukilteo. The public is invit?ed and refreshments will be served.
Free sports physicals: Group Health is offering free back-to-school sports physicals to Everett middle and high school student athletes who plan to participate in sports this fall.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Everett High School, 2416 Colby Ave.
No registration is needed, though space may be limited. Make sure students bring their school’s sports physical form, already filled out.
