Everett’s Events Center seems to be turning into rock tour central these days. There was Rod Stewart, The Cure is coming, and now the Scorpions.
The Scorpions, along with the group Tesla and Keith Emerson, are scheduled to perform Oct. 21. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Scorpion hits include “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” “Blackout,” “No One Like You” and “Big City Nights.” The group has sold more than 22 million albums over 35 years.
Formed in 1985, Tesla emerged in the era of pop-metal music. The band named itself after the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla, who pioneered the radio but was given only belated credit for doing so.
Tesla has produced a string of hits that include “Modern Day Cowboy,” “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and the megahit acoustic cover for the movie “Signs.”

Red Cross helps Charley victims
Volunteers from the American Red Cross are helping victims of Hurricane Charley in Florida. At last count, the Red Cross had more than 1,600 volunteers there on hardship assignments.
Spokesman Kris Krischano said volunteers, like many of the victims, are staying in Red Cross shelters.
“Some places don’t have drinking water,” Krischano said. “The temperature has reached 90 plus with near 100 percent humidity. A large number of areas are still without power.”
