Tulalip dinner to honor charities
The Tulalip Tribes plans a dinner in honor of the charities and other agencies the tribal government has supported in the past decade.
The tribal government is required under its gambling compact with Washington state to contribute a portion of all gaming revenue to charities each year. Tribal leaders say they’ve given nearly $30 million over the past decade.
Those charities and agencies, as well as tribal leaders, will be honored tonight at a dinner in the Orcas Ballroom in the Tulalip Resort Casino.
Expect delays on State Avenue
State Avenue at 136th Street NE will be closed to northbound traffic through Monday for roadwork. Drivers should expect delays.
The construction is part of the $9 million widening of State Avenue from 136th Street NE to 152nd Street NE.
Southbound State Avenue past 152nd Street NE will be limited to local and business traffic. Alternate routes will include 51st Avenue NE to the east and I-5.
Message boards will be posted at intersection approaches to keep drivers up-to-date. The project is scheduled to be done by August.
