Lynnwood man charged with trying to lure girl, 12

LYNNWOOD – A Lynnwood man with a history of rape and incest was charged Monday with luring after he allegedly tried to convince a 12-year-old girl to take a ride in his car.

Robert James Garza, 54, is a registered sex offender. He had been the focus of a police alert about his recent arrival to the neighborhood.

The girl’s mother showed her a notification flier. The girl said the man had tried to get her to climb into his car. When detectives investigated, she picked Garza’s photograph out of a montage.

Garza denied the girl’s allegations. He has been jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
