EVERETT — A 25-year-old Granite Falls man was shot as he helped friends move into the Everett Country Club Apartments Wednesday.
The shooting occurred about 6:29 p.m. in an apartment at the complex in the 1300 block of 100th Place SE, said Everett police Sgt. Boyd Bryant.
Few details were available Wednesday. However, initial witness reports indicated there had been a verbal exchange between the victim’s group and at least one other man as the victim helped friends move into the apartment, Bryant said.
One or more people who had argued with the victim apparently returned to the apartment a short time later and shot him, Bryant said.
A helicopter landed at the nearby Everett Mall and flew the victim to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was in satisfactory condition late Wednesday.
Police had no suspects in custody Wednesday evening.
The shooting is the second at the Everett Country Club Apartments this year.
Maria Lynn Berg, 22, was shot to death in her apartment Aug. 16 during a gunfight between her boyfriend and intruders. Two men were arrested and charged in connection with that shooting.
