MUKILTEO — Historic Everett will hold a special event on Mukilteo’s early years beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday in room 109 of Rose Hill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave.
In anticipation of the Mukilteo’s Sesquicentennial Celebration in 2010, historian David Dilgard will trace the city’s story to the 1792 visit by Capt. George Vancouver, discuss the treaty signing of 1855 and examine the role of town founders in territorial politics — from the days when Mukilteo was the Snohomish County seat, through cranberry marketing, salmon packing, beer brewing and the export of duck feathers.
Admission is $10, $5 for members of Historic Everett or the Mukilteo Historical Society.
The event will include a tour of Pioneer Cemetery, with guides in costume, discussion of the historic lighthouse and the historic Fowler pear tree.
