Camano Island: Group supports law enforcement

The Camano Law Enforcement Support Foundation plans to meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Country Club Fire Station, 1326 S. Elger Bay Road.

Everett: New Paine Field appointments

The Snohomish County Council on Wednesday approved new Paine Field Community Council members for staggered two- and four-year terms.

The council gives the public and business people a role in managing the Snohomish County airport.

Appointed to four-year terms are: Kris Huxford from the community’s northwest region; Vernon Chase from the southwest region; Steve Waterman, pilot; Terry Wilcoxson, on-airport business; Rich White, off-airport business.

Appointed to two two-year terms are: John Richardson from the community’s northeast region; Barbara Earl from the southeast region; Hal Meyer, pilot; Marcus Johnson, on-airport business; and Todd Brunner, off-airport business.

EvCC plans to host 2-day blood drive

Everett Community College plans to host a blood drive Feb. 7 and 8 with the Puget Sound Blood Center.

The blood drive is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Whitehorse Hall both days.

Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St., is two blocks west of Broadway, between 10th and Tower streets.

The college has an ethnically diverse student population, which allows the blood center to gather a range of blood types it needs to serve all patients.

Stanwood: Toys invited to sleep-over

Tall Tales, Shaggy Ears is a family program set for 7 p.m. Friday at the Stanwood Library, 9701 271st St. NW.

Kids are encouraged to wear pajamas, bring a favorite stuffed animal and join a puppet play, then listen to a lullaby and say good night to their furry friends.

The toys stay at the library for a midnight adventure, and can be picked up the next morning, along with photos of the toys’ escapades.
