Not guilty plea in 2 Tacoma sex assaults

TACOMA — A man accused of sexually assaulting two women in Tacoma pleaded not guilty Monday to rape and assault charges.

Pierce County prosecutors say Vol Lam, 42, attacked a 48-year-old homeless woman as she was sleeping Saturday and two hours later attacked a 59-year-old woman on a street in the Hilltop neighborhood.

The News Tribune reports he’s suspected of attacking a third woman but not charged.

Lam is jailed with bail set at $250,000.
