EVERETT — A Marysville man was killed on Highway 526 near the Boeing Co. plant after being struck by a car early Monday morning.
The death of Robert G. Vincler, 55, of Marysville, was ruled an accident, officials said. The Herald’s news partner, KIRO 7 TV news, reported that Vincler was a Boeing employee.
The crash was reported about 5 a.m. in the eastbound lane, just east of Seaway Boulevard, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Vincler was hit by an SUV driven by a Mukilteo woman, 56. The woman stopped immediately and cooperated with investigators, Goetz said.
“We don’t know why the pedestrian was in the roadway,” Goetz said. “It does not appear that road conditions were a factor in the car-pedestrian accident.”
It’s possible the man had been driving a car involved in a spinout accident on a ramp leading from Seaway Boulevard to Highway 526, Goetz said.
Traffic was diverted through side streets for more than two hours as investigators processed the scene.
