OAK HARBOR — A police officer shot a man who reportedly was seen holding down a woman Tuesday morning in Oak Harbor.
Police received a call about the man around 8:50 a.m. Witnesses said the man had a gun, said trooper Heather Axtman with the Washington State Patrol.
Not long after officers arrived in the 500 block of SE Bayshore Drive, shots were fired. The man was struck in the arm, Axtman said.
He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with injuries that weren’t believed to be life-threatening.
The Skagit Multiple Agency Response Team is looking into the shooting. The task force of detectives from several Skagit County law enforcement agencies investigate cases involving police force.
