Public meeting to address Lynnwood traffic cams

LYNNWOOD — The city plans a community meeting Wednesday to discuss the future of traffic-enforcement cameras in Lynnwood.

The long talked about meeting is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW.

There will be a presentation about the camera program’s history and how it works, as well as the chance for public comment, City Council President Loren Simmonds said.

Revenue from enforcement-camera tickets amounts to about 5 percent of the city’s general fund, according to a council packet prepared for the meeting.
