Leaders of the social service committees of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Everett High School, along with the club presidents, checked with adviser Esther Johnson on the contents of the Thanksgiving baskets for community families. They club presidents were Duane Pearson and Jerie Weldon, and the committee heads were Tuck Bonney and Judy Anderson.
25 years ago (1982)
Three federal judges ruled that Washington state’s 1982 redistricting law was unconstitutional and the Legislature had to draft new congressional district boundaries by early the next year. The decision was a victory for Everett, which had challenged the redistricting law after the city was removed from the 2nd District and placed in the Seattle-dominated 1st District.
