Myrtle Ferrell was elected president of the Everett School Board at the annual reorganization of the board. She succeeded Ross McIvor. George Dewy was elected vice president and Oscar Johnson was re-elected as secretary. All votes were unanimous.
Fred Shaw, long active in affairs along the waterfront in Everett and a past commodore of Everett Yacht Club, was installed as commander of Everett Power Squadron.
The big top had come to View Ridge Elementary. The striped, cream-and-tan tent was raised this week as part of the school’s new special-education addition and would be used as a covered play area. Architect Bob Champion designed the structure and Newland Construction put it into place.
