After having voted in general elections since 1874, David Hunsaker was going to pass up tomorrow’s vote. One hundred-one years of age, he was losing his sight and hearing. A resident of Gold Bar for years, he now lived in Snohomish. Among relatives in the area were son L.P. Hunsaker and daughter Mrs. C.F. Snell.
Nine Snohomish High students who participated in the annual “Turkey Trot,” a race through city streets, gathered for a photo. They were Larry Gable, Dan Cwezey, Bill Thompson, Darrell Morrison, Howard Riebe, Larry Nolan, Darrell Lokken, Roy Moose and Jack Bruce.

The Herald endorsed incumbents Earl Dutton and Don Rider in the school board election. Rider was facing his first election, having been appointed because of a vacancy.
The “People in Business” column included Chris Wold of Lake Stevens. Wold was elected president of Cascade Steel Door Inc., a division of Wold Hardware. The company distributed hollow metal doors, frames and contract builders’ hardware to firms in the Northwest.
