Nine swine flu cases have been confirmed in Washington, including one case in Snohomish County, state health officials have announced.
The announcement did not come as a surprise since federal health officials report that 99 percent of cases listed as probable cases are confirmed by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Federal health officials said today that they expect cases to soon be reported in all states.
The state health department’s lab in Shoreline is expected to begin its own testing to confirm swine flu cases next week.
As of Monday afternoon, the state had 45 probable cases, including 14 in Snohomish County.
