SEATTLE — The University of Washington Board of Regents plans to announce its choice for the university’s next president during a meeting Monday morning.
The previous UW president, Mark Emmert, announced last April he was leaving Seattle to become president of the NCAA.
The regents told their search committee they were looking for someone with excellent leadership, communication and fundraising skills, as well as an appreciation of the culture and mission of a public research university.
Emmert held the job for about six years. He was the country’s second-highest-paid public university president, behind E. Gordon Gee, of Ohio State University.
