BELLEVUE — Authorities say an 84-year-old Bellevue woman apparently lived for about a month with the decomposing remains of her daughter before dying herself.
The mother was found dead in her bathroom on March 9 after neighbors at the Bayview Village Apartments became concerned about her well-being.
Apartment managers said the woman’s 62-year-old daughter lived at a different address, but authorities were unable to locate her.
A week later, hoping to find a clue to the dead woman’s next of kin, investigators from the King County medical examiner’s office returned. Searching through piles of clothing and other belongings, they found the daughter’s decomposed remains in a bedroom.
Cause of death of the younger woman remains undetermined.
