Prep girls swimming: 4A District 1 meet

MUKILTEO — The Cascade swim team had three winners in individual events and placed first in two team relay events at Kamiak High School in Saturday’s 4A District Championships. The top three finishers in each event qualified for state.

Kalena Laurent won the 200 freestyle in 1:53.82 and the 100 butterfly in 56.81. Demetra Laurent won the 500 freestyle (5:22.27). Cascade’s 200 freestyle relay team placed first (1:42.02), as well as its 400 freestyle relay team (3:41.22).

Kelsey Fallstrom of Lake Stevens won the 100 freestyle (53.60).

Snohomish won the 200 medley relay (1:49.81), and a member of the team, Madelene Baker, won the 50 freestyle (24.80). Alexa Weyer, another relay team member, won the 100 breaststroke (1:08.87).
