Here are local prep events to keep an eye on this week:
1. Basketball: 3A District 1 tournament play-in games, Wednesday/Thursday. Two girls games Wednesday and two boys games Thursday will determine the final entrants into the 3A District 1 tournaments.
2. Basketball: 4A District 1 tournament first round, Thursday. The 4A District 1 boys and girls tournaments begin with two games on each side: Wesco No. 3 vs. No. 6, and No. 4 vs. No. 5. The winners of these games advance to Saturday’s semifinals.
3. Boys wrestling: 4A/3A Region 1 tournaments, Saturday. The 4A tournament will be held at Cavelero Middle School in Lake Stevens, while the 3A tournament will be contested at Edmonds-Woodway High School. The top wrestlers from these meets advance to next week’s Mat Classic in Tacoma.
4. Boys swimming and diving: 4A/3A District 1 meet, Thursday-Saturday. All Wesco teams will gather at the Snohomish Aquatic Center to determine district champions and finalize their lineups for next week’s 3A and 4A state meets in Federal Way.
