Here are the prep stars of the night for Saturday, Jan. 12:

Grace Trichler, Sultan girls basketball

Trichler, a freshman, scored 13 of her season-high 21 points to lead Sultan to a 43-38 come-from-behind victory over Orcas Island.

Vlad Gilszmer, Kamiak boys swimming

Gilszmer, a sophomore, won the 500 yard freestyle witha time of 4 minutes, 39.67 seconds at the 32-team Kentridge Invitational.

Riley Van Scoy, Stanwood boys wrestling

Van Scoy, a senior ranked first in Class 3A at 160 pounds by Washington Wrestling report, pinned Woodinville’s Drew Christianson, ranked third in 4A at 160 pounds by Washington Wrestling Report, in 5:28 to win the 160-pound weight class at the Marysville Pilchuck Premier Tournament.

Kody Newman, South Whidbey boys basketball

Newman, a senior, scored 16 points in the first quarter on his way to a 32-point outing in the Falcons’ win over Chimacum.
