Jazzelle Caparas

Mariner | Girls Golf

Caparas, a senior, claimed medalist honors at the Wesco 4A Tournament on Wednesday, shooting a 2-over-par 74 at Battle Creek Golf Course in Marysville.

Grace Flitsch, Celia Forster

Snohomish | Girls Tennis

Flitsch and Forster, both juniors, won the Wesco 3A North doubles title Wednesday, handing Panther teammates Allie Graham and Natalie Stern their first loss of the season, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Kevin Giessler

Jackson | Boys Soccer

Giessler, a senior, scored two goals and added an assist in the Timberwolves’ 4-0 win over Eastlake on May 7. The victory sent Jackson to the state tournament for the first time since 2011.

Brooke Jordan

Archbishop Murphy | Softball

Jordan, a junior, capped a 5-for-5 performance with a walk-off grand slam in the Wildcats’ 18-14 win over Stanwood on May 6. She finished with two home runs, six RBI, five runs scored and picked up the win with two innings of relief pitching. On Saturday, she went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and scored a run as Murphy beat Liberty 10-6 in a 2A bi-district play-in game.

Alvin Kwak, Devin Kim, Daniel Kim, Josh Clogston and Alex Kim

Kamiak | Boys Golf

The five Knights produced the top five scores at the Wesco 4A Tournament on May 7 at Walter Hall Golf Course in Everett, helping Kamiak to a dominant team victory. Kwak, a senior, earned medalist honors with a 5-under 67.

Kenji Miller

Shorewood | Baseball

Miller, a junior, shut down the high-powered Arlington offense, tossing a six-hitter and striking out seven as the Thunderbirds beat the previously undefeated Eagles 3-1 on May 7. Shorewood clinched a Class 3A state berth with the win.

Sergio Pelayo, Skyler Reyna, Cameron Mefford and Matthew Zehrung

Lake Stevens | Boys Track and Field

Pelayo, Reyna and Mefford, all juniors, and Zehrung, a senior, set a school record by winning the 4×100-meter relay in 42.71 seconds Wednesday at the Wesco 4A Meet at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Snohomish.
