City Hall makeover mulled: The Lynnwood City Council meeting tonight will include a conversation about a possible makeover of City Hall. Officials say safety improvements are needed to the brick pathway leading to the front door. Other changes are being considered, such as new furniture, new signs and new benches. Samples of proposed designs are posted on the city’s website. The council will need to narrow down the options in the coming weeks. In other city news, a project is planned to make the intersection of Highway 99 and 196th Street SW safer, including additional striping and signs. The bidding process has not been successful so far. Officials are expected to reconsider and reopen bidding at a later date, according to council documents.
As for the plan to build a new bridge across I-5 to connect Poplar Way to 33rd Avenue West, that remains in the design stage. The design of the project has an estimated cost of $3.5 million.
