EDMONDS – Police are searching for a suspected bank robber who may be hiding in an apartment on 212th Street SW.
The FBI tactical team is expected to arrive to conduct a room-by-room search for a man who robbed Banner Bank earlier today.
The man handed the teller a note demanding money and was seen running southbound toward the Park 212 apartment complex, Edmonds police Sgt. Don Anderson said. Officers flooded the area. Witnesses told police they saw the suspect run into one of the apartment buildings, Anderson said.
Police have sealed off the building. A police dog was brought in and confirmed the suspect’s path from the bank to the apartment, Anderson said.
The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s. He was last seen wearing a tan jacket, blue jeans and a red turtle neck that was pulled up to conceal his face. He also was wearing a hat.
