MARYSVILLE – Two boys may be responsible for spray-painting more than a dozen homes, businesses and vehicles in Marysville, police said today.
The boys, both 13, from Marysville and Tulalip, were arrested earlier this week after a man reported seeing the boys “tagging” his property, Marysville police Lt. Jeff Goldman said.
Police believe the boys vandalized at least seven vehicles and tagged 16 other locations. Officers are reviewing a database that includes pictures of tags to determine if the boys are responsible for other vandalism, Goldman said.
“Once we catch them, we go back and look at all the tags,” he said.
Police don’t believe the vandalism is gang-related. Damage is estimated at $5,000.
The boys were taken to the Denney Juvenile Justice Center in Everett for investigation of first-degree malicious mischief, a felony.
Anyone with information about the tagging is asked to call police at 360-363-8300.
