Chuck Morrison, director of the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross, receives a $25,000 check from Lin Fogg of Verizon and $30,000 from Mark McClure of Wells Fargo Bank.
The Red Cross also received a $10,000 donation from Intermec Corp. The companies made pledges of financial support during this winter’s flooding in Western Washington to help the Red Cross with disaster relief assistance.
The chapter provided refuge to flood victims in Red Cross emergency shelters opened at Arlington, Stanwood and Monroe. Ninety-one local Red Cross volunteers assisted in helping those affected by the floods. Included among the chapter’s relief efforts were 973 meals and 1,403 snacks served, distribution of 209 cleanup kits, mental health counseling, medical assistance and damage assessment thought flooded areas.
All Red Cross disaster relief assistance is free and made possible by donations from a generous Snohomish County community.
