Transit package back to voters?

Sound Transit plans a meeting today in Lynnwood to ask voters what they think about spending up to $10.3 billion on mass transit projects.

A ballot measure could be added either in November or in 2010, and might ask voters to increase the sales tax by 4 cents or 5 cents on a $10 purchase.

Snohomish County would see increased bus service under the proposal, and prep work — but not construction — for light rail.

A meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. A presentation is scheduled at 6:30 p.m.
