EVERETT — A man, 24, was arrested Monday morning after escaping police and stealing a car, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says.
He was seen with a woman, 26, on Sunday afternoon in a neighborhood east of Everett, going door-to-door and asking for money.
Deputies found them driving a car in the 5500 block of 129th Place SE and followed. The vehicle, a Scion, was reported as stolen. The man allegedly accelerated and took a sharp right.
They ended up in a cul-de-sac.
The woman was detained without incident. The man took off running, sheriff’s deputies said.
Shortly after, a man living in the neighborhood said someone ran into his home, took his car keys and stole his Subaru Impreza.
Deputies couldn’t locate the suspect that day, but recovered the Subaru about a mile away.
Law enforcement found the man 3:30 a.m. Monday, hiding in a house on 65th Ave. SE.
He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail
