AquaSox fall to Canadians in slugfest

Everett loses 12-8 as the two teams combine for 30 hits.

EVERETT — The Everett offense pounded out 15 hits, but the AquaSox lost to the Vancouver Canadians, 12-8, in a slugfest on Wednesday night at Funko Field.

Alex De Jesus hit a two-run single and Rainer Nunez added a two-run home run in a four-run fifth inning that gave the Canadians a lead they would not relinquish.

Charlie Welch hit a two-run home run in a four-run eighth inning as Everett pulled to within two at 10-8, but the AquaSox could not complete the comeback.

Alberto Rodriguez, Robert Perez Jr. and Ben Ramirez had three hits each for Everett (50-59).

De Jesus finished with three hits and four RBI, and Riley Tirotta homered and drove in three runs for Vancouver (56-50), which also had 15 hits in the game.
