MARYSVILLE — Katia Brown scored 12 points, going 8-for-11 from the free-throw line, and Tulalip Heritage overcame a four-point deficit at the half to beat Grace Academy in a Northwest 1B game.
“We came out in the second half with attitude and way more intensity,” said Tulalip head coach Tina Brown.
Kanoa Enick added 11 points and Justice Vela had 10 for the Hawks, who are now 6-0 in league play and have a two-game lead over second-place Lopez.
After getting beat by 32 points in the two teams first meeting, Grace Academy coach Rick Holt was pleased with the improvement in his team’s play.
“We played better, improved, they’re a real good team,” said Holt. “We went cold from the field in the third and got into some foul trouble (in the second half).”
Julianna Bethune scored 10 points and Jasmin Robinson had nine to pace the Eagles.
