PREP SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Crews’ 3 hits help Terrace beat Lake Stevens

LAKE STEVENS — Mountlake Terrace’s Chelsea Crews had quite the day at the plate in Thursday’s non-league softball game at Lake Stevens H.S.

Crews stroked two singles and a triple, and Terrace racked up 11 hits combined, defeating Lake Stevens 10-1.

The win makes the Hawks 2-0 overall, and dropped Lake Stevens to 1-2.

Takara Mitsui had two hits for Terrace, and teammate Rene Bos hit a single and double.

Mountlake Terrace held Lake Stevens to four hits, all singles, with no Viking with more than one hit in the game.

Everett 6, Shorecrest 1: At Everett, Everett’s Chloe Kesterson batted 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three runs, two RBI and a stolen base in the non-conference win. Anna Hudson batted 2-for-3 for the Seagulls.

Lynnwood 2, Snohomish 1 (8 innings): At Snohomish, Lynnwood’s Jenah Barlow hit a game-winning RBI double in the eighth inning of the non-league game after Lynnwood scored in the seventh on a passed ball. Sissy Bates-Mundell was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored to lead Snohomish.

Cascade 2, Shorewood 1: At Cascade, after falling behind 1-0 in the second inning on an RBi single by Shorewood’s Taylor Arbuckle, Cascade tallied runs in the fourth and fifth innings of the non-league gane. The Bruins’ Megan Miller was 2-for- 3 with a double and a run scored. Taylor Pilkenton laced an RBI triple in the fourth to tie the score for Cascade, which remains undefeated.

Stanwood 3, Meadowdale 1: At Stanwood, Brittany Jeans uncharacteristically gave up a home run in the first inning, but rebounded nicely to pick up her third win of the season. Jeans finished the non-league game with 11 strikeouts against just one walk and the senior knocked one of the Spartans’ three extra-base hits. Shawna Hochstetler blasted a four-bagger in the fifth inning for Stanwood’s final run.
