REGINA, Saskatchewan – Just call the Everett Silvertips road warriors.

The Silvertips finished off their swing through the Western Hockey League’s East Division in style Friday night, beating the Regina Pats 5-1.

Ivan Baranka, Shaun Heshka, Tyler Dietrich, Curtis Billsten and Torrie Wheat scored goals for Everett (11-6-2-2), which finished 4-1 on its five-game road trip.

New forwards Alex Leavitt and Kyle Annesley, who were acquired in a trade earlier in the day, each had an assist for the Silvertips.

Goaltender Leland Irving made 23 saves in net to earn the victory. The Silvertips also went 3-for-6 on the power play.

Rick Rypien scored for Regina (8-11-2). Goalie Dustin Slade made 22 saves.

Everett held a precarious 2-1 lead early in the third period when Dietrich skated around the defense and put a shot through Slade for his eighth goal of the season at 3 minutes, 7 seconds, and the Pats never recovered.

Billsten scored his fourth of the season at 8:48, beating Slade top shelf, and Wheat scored his team-leading ninth, banking a shot in off the post on the power play at 18:44, to finish off the scoring.

Everett took an early 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of power-play goals. First, just 1:58 into the game, Baranka wristed a shot from the point in off the right post to make it 1-0. It was Baranka’s second goal of the season. Then at 11:51, Heshka’s shot from the point deflected off traffic in front of the goal and into the net to make it 2-0. It was Heshka’s second goal of the season.

Regina pulled a goal back at 15:21 with a power-play goal of its own, Rypien tipping in a shot from the point to make it 2-1 with his sixth goal of the season.

Everett played without captain Mitch Love for the second straight game because of injury.
