Shadle’s three goals spark Jackson in loser out game

By DUANE DALES

Herald Writer

BELLINGHAM – Forward Jessica Shadle scored all three goals as the Jackson Timberwolves defeated the Ferndale Eagles 3-1 Tuesday and advanced to play Arlington in the next round of the Class 3A Northwest District girls soccer playoffs at Bellingham’s Civic Field Stadium.

“The intensity was there, and the ball was at the right place and at the right time,” Shadle said about her three goals.

Shadle first scored at 13:14 of the first half, assisted by teammate Cat Baller. She scored early in the second half, assisted by Dyana Calderon, to put Jackson up 2-0.

Ferndale scored at the 30:26 mark, trimming Jackson’s lead to 2-1. A few minutes late, Shadle responded with her third goal, assisted by Andra Rubens.

“They don’t quit,” Jackson coach AJ Utush said about his team. “They have lots of heart.”
