The area’s top prep girls tennis player isn’t playing for her high school this spring.
Shorewood junior Sasha Gaeth has elected to not play for the Thunderbirds.
“Sasha has decided to focus on her (United States Tennis Association) tournaments and high-performance training thisyear,” Shorewood coach Arnie Moreno said.
Gaeth advanced to the championship match of the 3A state singles tournament last season, where she lost to Lakeside’s VivDaniel. As a freshman, Gaeth placed fourth in the state tournament.
