Lance Balla, currently in his first year as the principal of Everett High School, was a former curriculum developer in the Bellevue School District. He helped author a textbook in “Advanced Language and Literature” that recently received a Macmillan Learning Award from its publisher.
The award is one of many for Balla, whose previous accomplishments include the White House Distinguished Teacher Award, the Teacher Recognition Award from the U.S. Department of Education, the Washington State Award for Professional Excellence, and the Woodring College of Education Award for Outstanding Teaching.
