DALLAS — For the second time in a week, a pedestrian has been killed by a commuter train in Dallas.
Officials say the woman walked into the Trinity Railway Express train during the afternoon rush hour Monday.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit spokesman Morgan Lyons said the industrial area was closed for two hours after the accident. Lyons said witnesses reported that the woman went around the crossing arms and “just walked into the side of the train.”
Lyons said the woman was wearing a hooded jacket and may not have seen the train. A cell phone was recovered. Lyons said investigators do not know if the woman had been on the phone when she died.
The area is about 100 yards east of where a male pedestrian was struck and killed last week.
The train links Dallas and Fort Worth and carries about 10,000 passengers daily.
