The High School Athletes of the Week for March 25-31

This week’s winners represent seven different schools

Cade Cooke

Kamiak | Boys Soccer

Cooke, a senior, scored the only goal of the game as the Knights defeated Lake Stevens 1-0 Friday in a Wesco 4A match.

Mayda Rieflin

Lynnwood | Softball

Rieflin, a senior, went 3-for-3 at the plate — including a pair of home runs — and struck out 11 batters in the Royals’ 12-10 victory over Shorecrest on March 26.

Cameron Smith

Arlington | Baseball

Smith, a junior, delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Eagles a 6-5 walk-off win over Edmonds-Woodway on Wednesday.

Cameron Klundt

Stanwood | Boys Golf

Klundt shot a 2-over-par 70 to capture medalist honors at the eight-team Everett Invitational on Thursday at Legion Memorial Golf Course.

Joseph Skoog

Jackson | Boys Track and Field

Skoog, a junior, placed first in the boys 3,200 Friday at the Eastmont Invite in East Wenatchee. Skoog finished in a season-best time of 9 minutes, 38.12 seconds.

Kaia Swegler-Richmond

South Whidbey | Girls Track and Field

Swegler-Richmond placed second in the 2K steeplechase Saturday at the 44th annual Don Holder Relays in Yakima. Swegler-Richmond finished in a time of 7:53.09.

Amanda Huynh

Glacier Peak | Girls Tennis

Huynh outlasted Jackson’s Mina Jamshidpour 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 Friday in a No.2 singles match that took 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete. Huynh’s victory helped the Grizzlies to a 4-3 win in the Wesco 4A contest.
