Relay for Life kickoff

The American Cancer Society holds a Regional Cancer Warrior Summit for anyone interested in participating in Relay for Life fundraising events this year, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 31 at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St.

There will be door prizes, snacks, speakers and more.

Mosses and lichens of Camano Island

Learn how mosses, lichens and fungi contribute to the growth of our Evergreen State forests with WSU Master Gardener Deborah Smeltzer, 7 p.m. March 21 at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 N East Camano Drive, Camano Island.

The Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks, hosts public presentations the third Wednesday of each month.

Then, follow up with a field trip at Four Springs Lake Preserve, 1 p.m. March 25, as retired botanist Russ Holmes points out common Camano mosses, lichens, liverworts and fungi.

Meet in the main parking lot at 585 Lewis Lane. (No dogs.)

English High Tea in Edmonds

An English High Tea is set for 1 to 3 p.m. March 24 at the Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Ave.

Cost is $8 for members, $10 for nonmembers.

Enjoy tea and finger foods, and wear a favorite hat. Bring your own special teacup, or use one provided.

Arlington events

The Stillaguamish Senior Center, at 18308 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington, offers a variety of classes and support activities. Here are a few:

Resource fair: The Stilly Resource Fair is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28 and will offer free health screenings, information and resources for social services and health, healthy snacks, giveaways and prizes.

Senior support groups: A peer support group meets 9:50-10:50 a.m. second and fourth Wednesdays.

A caregiver support group meets 3-4 p.m. first Mondays.

A grief support group meets 3-4 p.m. Mondays.

Driving safety: A “55 Alive” defensive driving class is offered 9 a.m.-1 p.m. the second Tuesday to Wednesday of each month.

Cost is $15 AARP members, $20 non-members. Sign-up required.
